Guest: My Huddersfield Town

Updated: Jul 25, 2018

In my many years watching Town from League 1 all the way through to today in the Premier League, there have been many ups and more than a few downs.

But let's talk about the ups! From Steve Simonsen's miss which got us promoted to the Championship all the way to our recent point at Chelsea which assured our place in the Premier League for at least another year, there's definitely been a lot to enjoy.

But the real question is, which moment has been the greatest? Surely, most Town fans would agree that this moment has come within the past couple of years or so ever since David Wagner took charge but which magical moment was it?

Was it Hefele's winner against Leeds, Schindler's penalty at Wembley or the victory against Manchester United? For me it would have to be Schindler's penalty at Wembley, but I did love the victories over Leeds and Manchester United!

Who has been our best player in recent years?

From when we first got promoted all the way up until now, we have had some very decent players, especially under Wagner. Even pre-Wagner we saw some excellent players in blue and white, such as James Vaughan and Jordan Rhodes, even though he chose to leave when we reached the Championship under Simon Grayson.

Ever since Wagner came in, the squad has positively changed. In my opinion the signings of Aaron Mooy, Schindler and even Laurent Depoitre have all made a positive impact but I must say that Mooy has had some inconsistent patches in 2018. But this doesn't take away the fact that he's been a very key player.

How could the team be improved over the summer?

In my opinion, I think that Town should be looking to bring in a player with at least 3 years of good Premier League experience. I think that we should do our best to keep Kongolo and look at signing a midfielder, a winger and a striker.

For example, Yaya Toure is available this summer and although his wage demands might be slightly unrealistic for our budget I think he could possibly be on his way here this transfer window, fingers crossed...
