Huddersfield v Everton: All you need to know

Updated: Jul 25, 2018

Sam Allardyce's Everton side travel to West Yorkshire tomorrow for their Premier League clash against Huddersfield Town. Here we bring you our (almost) unmissable guide to the game including match odds, key battles, star man and much more, enjoy!

Key Battle: Alex Pritchard v Idrissa Gueye

Senegalese defensive-midfielder Idrissa Gueye looks set to start alongside Morgan Schneiderlin in front of the Everton defence, and he will have a big say on the outcome of the game. The 28-year-old, -who will be making his 99th league appearance for the Toffees - has been a defensive lynch pin for his team all season.

Offensively he's only scored once this term, but he's helped his team enormously by making 107 tackles, 54 interceptions and recovering the ball on 268 occasions. Everton will undoubtedly set-up to frustrate Huddersfield and if the Terriers are to have any chance of unlocking the visitors defence, Alex Pritchard will need to escape the attention of Gueye.

Star man: Theo Walcott

Okay, so he might not be Everton's actual 'star man', but in the context of this game he could be their most important player. Huddersfield Town love to play a high-line, with the centre-backs often camped on the halfway line ready to recover lose balls.

Everton will look to exploit this with the pace of Theo Walcott and Yannick Bolasie on both wings, and if Walcott is allowed space in behind he will punish Huddersfield. Walcott has scored 2 goals and made 3 assists in his 12 games at Everton so far and will be confident of improving those stats on Saturday.
