Who's Staying?
Jan Siewert has hinted that there could be a big overhaul of the playing squad at the end of the season. After presiding over a series of inept performances it’s clear the young German coach is less than impressed with a number of his players.
A clear out will be tough. Who should we keep? Who do we cash in on? Who do we get rid of at all costs? Read on to find out our verdict.

Jonas Lossl
The Dane is out of contract at the end of this season and recent reports have linked him with a move to French Ligue 1 side Monaco. As such keeping him in West Yorkshire could prove to be a difficult task.
Verdict: Leave (through gritted teeth)
Fee: Free

Ben Hamer
Whilst Ben undoubtedly has talent he has unfortunately failed to show any of it during his brief stay in West Yorkshire. With goalkeeping options looking slim it’s imperative that we keep Ben, ideally as a back-up to a new ‘keeper.
Verdict: Keep

Tommy Smith
A key part of the promotion winning side and one player that is almost guaranteed to perform in the Championship. His leadership skills will also be needed as the squad undergoes a major facelift.
Verdict: Keep

Terence Kongolo
Arguably our best performer in the Premier League days. Keeping him would be one of our main goals if we were Jan Siewert but we recognise that may be tough. His £35,000 a week wage may give him an extra incentive to stay in West Yorkshire for one more season.
Verdict: Try to keep
Fee to Leave: £15 million plus

Chris Lowe
Just like Tommy Smith, Lowe was a key figure in the promotion winning team not just on the pitch but in the dressing room as well. We would definitely keep Lowe and use his experience to guide the new team.
Verdict: Keep
Mathias Zanka
The towering Dane was terrific in his first season with Town but of late, his head clearly seems to be elsewhere. We think Zanka’s first thoughts in the summer will be to leave Town and head back to Copenhagen and we would not stand in his way.
Verdict: Leave
Fee: £1.2 million

Christopher Schindler
No point going into detail on this one
Verdict: KEEP AT ALL COSTS
Jon Gorenc-Stankovic
Has performed well of late and was held in high regard by previous coach David Wagner. ‘The Stankorman’ could be of enormous benefit in the Championship.
Verdict: Keep

Florent Hadergjonaj
Lightweight, tactically naïve and not of the required standard for either the Premier League or the hustle-bustle of the Championship. This ones a no-brainer for us.
Verdict: Leave
Fee: £500k+

Erik Durm
It’s hard to judge Erik Durm’s season thus far, he’s been good in patches but equally poor in others. His Injury record is something of a concern and his contract is up in the summer.
Verdict: Tempted to keep
Fee to leave: End of contract
Jonathan Hogg
See the above comments on Christopher Schindler
Verdict: KEEP AT ALL COSTS
Juninho Bacuna
In a poor side Bacuna has really stood out as someone willing to put a foot in and run his socks off for the team. His performances have improved over the course of the season and he could go on to be a pivotal player for Town in the years to come.
Verdict: Keep
Philip Billing
Arguably the most technically gifted player in the entire squad and definitely our stand-out player from the first half of the season. Speculation regarding his future seems to have had an effect on his performances of late and because of that we’d cash in on him in the summer.
Verdict: Leave
Fee: £15 million +
Elias Kachunga
He hasn’t set the world alight in the Premier League, but to be fair he didn’t do that in the Championship either. He is a limited player but a real committed, vital part of the team and we’d keep him more for his character than his natural ability.
Verdict: Keep
Aaron Mooy
We, like all Town fans, adore Aaron Mooy. He has been a superb servant to the club, but he is clearly too good for the Championship. We’d move heaven and earth to keep him for one season but we know that might not be possible.
Verdict: Leave (through gritted teeth)
Fee: £15 million +
Adama Diakhaby
Hmmm, what do we say about young Adama? At times he’s looked like a competition winner and at times he has looked like a world beater. We’d keep him as a player to build for the future. He has the potential to terrorise Championship defences.
Verdict: Keep
Ramadan Sobhi
The Egyptian has played about 5 minutes of football for Huddersfield Town this season before going out on loan. Like Adama Diakhaby he has potential and buckets of talent and we’d be tempted to keep him.
Verdict: Keep
Rajiv Van La Parra
The Dutch winger has been phenomenal during his time at Town. Currently on loan to Middlesbrough, Raj has struggled to get playing time under Tony Pulis and is out of contract in the summer. We’d renew his contract ASAP and keep him here for the long-term.
Verdict: Keep
Isaac Mbenza
There have been reports that we are obliged to make Mbenza’s loan deal permanent at the end of the season. If this is the case then we clearly have no choice other than to keep him, but if it’s not we’d like to spend our transfer budget elsewhere.
Verdict: If possible, leave.
Fee: End of loan
Danny Williams
How long do you persist with a player like Danny Williams? He’s a decent player and has proven that before in the Championship but the problem is getting him on the pitch in the first place. Because of his injury record and the emergence of Bacuna we’d be tempted not to renew his contract.
Verdict: Leave
Fee: End of contract

Alex Pritchard
He has underwhelmed at times for Town but who wouldn’t in his position? A lot of the attacking workload has been placed on his shoulders in the Premier League, but he is a talented player and we’d love to keep him in the Championship. For those unsure over his wages, the rumoured £100,000 a week is nothing more than a rumour, he’s on £30,000 a wee which will drop to £22,500 following relegation.
Verdict: KEEP AT ALL COSTS
Collin Quaner
Currently out on loan at Ipswich, and not really pulling up trees but was a key part of the squad that won promotion in 2017. Seems to be well liked in the dressing room as well so we’d keep him.
Verdict: Keep

Abdelhamid Sabiri
We have no idea how good this lad is because we just haven’t seen enough of him. The word from within the club is that he’s enormously talented, and perhaps the Championship will be the perfect place for him to realise his potential.
Verdict: Keep
Jason Puncheon
See ya!
Verdict: Leave
Fee: End of loan

Jack Payne
Out on loan at struggling League One side Bradford City after spending last season with Oxford and Blackburn respectively. Another player that looks to have potential but if we can keep Pritchard and add one or two more creative players we see no place for Jack Payne unfortunately.
Verdict: Leave
Fee: End of contract
Karlan Grant
Easy decision to make.
Verdict: KEEP AT ALL COSTS
Laurent Depoitre
The Belgian hasn’t scored a single goal this season and has looked desperate at times. His contract is up in the summer and we wouldn’t be rushing to renew it.
Verdict: Leave
Fee: End of contract
Steve Mounie
Some seem to think that Mounie will flourish in the Championship, but we’ve seen absolutely nothing to support that view. He’s dreadful. He can’t pass, can’t dribble, can’t cross and most importantly for a striker, can’t score.
Verdict: Leave
Fee: £8 million +
