In this new TerrierBlog series we ask fans of Huddersfield Town what makes their club special? What their dreams and fears are, and what their best and worst memories are from their time supporting the club. First up is 14-year-old Georgia Cook from Mirfield.
So, when did you first start supporting Huddersfield Town?
"I first started supporting Huddersfield about two-and-a-half years ago as I was never interested in football before."
Are you Huddersfield born and bred?
"I’m Yorkshire born and bred, I live in Mirfield."
What made you become a Town fan? Pushy parents? Or was it just a love the club?
"I wanted to become a town fan because everybody seemed so nice and I watched them every so often and became fascinated in the connection everybody had with each other."
Do you remember your first game? The result, the atmosphere or the overall experience?
"I remember the first game! Huddersfield won 2-1 against Brentford, it was such an exciting and amazing experience words can’t even describe!"
Apart from the obviously amazing last two years, what would you say has been your highlight of your time supporting Town?
"My highlight of supporting Town over the two years has probably been meeting and connecting with people I never thought I would, going to away matches with my fellow Terriers and getting to know them, but most of all I found a home and that has been the best."
Let’s just accept that David Wagner is the best manager Town have ever had (since Chapman), and I doubt you remember him! Who would you say has been the second best manager during your years supporting Huddersfield?
"Because of my age (I only started supporting Huddersfield when I was 12) I don’t really know any of the previous mangers, but none of them are as good as David Wagner!"
Give us your favourite starting 11 made up of all the players you’ve seen in blue & white.
"My favourite 11 would be: Danny Ward (GK), Hadergjonaj, Kongolo, Schindler, Hefele, Hogg, Mooy, Whitehead , Pritchard , Depoitre , Mounié."
What would you say makes Huddersfield’s fans and the club unique?
"We’re the best in Yorkshire and we treat each other like family, we care and support for one another. Also there is an amazing turn-out at home and away games, no matter the distance."
Can you tell us your worst memory supporting Town?
"My worst memory supporting town was when Hefele missed his penalty, I was heartbroken"
What one thing are you afraid of for the future of Huddersfield?
"I am afraid that the players that got us into the Premier League will no longer play and go to other clubs, and that new players won’t be as interactive with the fans as they were in the Championship."
What would your dream season be?
"My dream season would be Huddersfield getting into the Champions League, we win the Premier League and we get Mo Salah!"
